I first went to brunch here and ordered the tempeh hash. Awesome smoked tempeh with an impressive vegan hollandaise sauce and two avocados on top. I also ordered the miso soup which was awesome. It also came with noddles and vegetables to add in. Another person at the table had the cheesesteak which was disappointing.

I returned a second time for dinner and had the Pasta Bolognese. It came with a nut cheese on top which was delicious. My only gripe is that I thought the portion was too small for a dinner entree. Overall I've loved the food. The ambiance inside the restaurant could use a bit of improvement.

They haven't quite hit their stride yet, as they were out of several of the items I wanted (including cinnamon buns and pecan pie), but I will definitely return in the future.

I ordered salad and seitan wings here. The salad tasted a bit off. The greens definitely weren't fresh. The wings were literally just deep-fried seitan. No breading or coating, just a little buffalo sauce. I was pretty disappointed.

I went to this place with a friend who is over 30 years old. Our sever asked us for ID and my friend presented his. Our server told him that his ID was expired so he was told that he could not stay. We were absolutely stunned. I asked if he could just order food and she said no. We were then asked to leave.

While we were waiting outside my friend said he thought that they didn't like the way we were dressed so they were trying to get us on a technicality. They do seem to be trying to cultivate a certain image there, so this might be true. We were pissed.

We didn't order anything so I can't comment on the food, but after this experience I am never returning.

Better than the others

For some reason, the ingredients at this Chipotle seem to taste fresher than at the other locations. Maybe it's the high turnover rate? Long lines at lunch are the norm. The space is also a little cramped with only a few tables and a lot of single seats.

Good food for cheap

Magic Carpet is one of the best food carts in Philadelphia. They consistently come up with interesting vegan specials and there's always good falafel and other Mediterranean dishes. The prices are very reasonable, but Magic Carpet has a bit of a following so be prepared to wait in line.

The herbovore tofu tacos are amazing and have an Asian fusion twist. They even offer their own homemade vegan carrot cake which is served warm and topped with a melted cream cheese frosting. The cake is moist and loaded with walnuts. Plus Mad Mex has a decent selection of craft beers.
